The professor of Social Psychology and director of the “WANT: Psychosocial Prevention and Healthy Organizations” team, Marisa Salanova, was in charge of giving the first in-person Espaitec workshop
Espaitec has held its first in-person workshop within the cycle Cuida't Espaitec in which Marisa Salanova, professor in Social Psychology at the Universitat Jaume I and team manager «WANT: Psychosocial Prevention and Healthy Organizations» has defined what is HERO (Healthy & Resilient Organization) methodology, what are its benefits and how to apply it in teams to promote positive organizations.
Positive organizations
As the speaker defined, a positive organization It is characterized by developing systematic, planned and proactive efforts to improve their psychosocial health and include the organizational well-being as a strategic value. To do this, it is necessary to incorporate a set of healthy practices and resources to improve at the level of tasks, social and organizational environment, especially in situations of adversity.
In this sense, promoting the organizational well-being It brings benefits such as, for example, that the people who make up the team feel more motivated, are more efficient and better deal with change situations.
HERO model
El HERO model is a methodology developed by the WANT research group of the UJI, whose purpose is to promote healthy and resilient organizations. In this sense, an organization is positive when it comprises three key elements –healthy organizational resources and practices, healthy employees, and healthy organizational outcomes– that, by investing in them, they feed off each other, as Salanova explained.
