Resilient communications, cybersecurity, and smart infrastructure are the focus of the 8th PRISMA

The June-September 2025 edition analyzes technological trends applied to emergencies and critical systems, with a focus on resilience and digital security.

Espaitec has launched the 8th edition of its PRISMA newsletter, a technology watch publication that compiles the main innovations impacting strategic sectors. This issue focuses on three key areas: resilient communications y space technologies, cybersecurity applied to emergencies and critical environments, and smart infrastructures aimed at managing emergency situations.

The current edition covers relevant technological advances such as low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity applied to global port logistics, intelligent industrial inspection systems using computer vision, autonomous solutions for monitoring electrical substations, and new European regulations linked to digital cyber resilience. It also includes notable news such as the cyberattack on collins aerospace which affected several European airports, and projects such as ECSTATIC, led by the Universitat Jaume I, which transforms telecommunications networks into global environmental monitoring systems.

The patents section presents a selection of innovations in cybersecurity, energy management, and structural resilience, including systems for threat detection in interconnected networks, digital twin platforms for critical infrastructure, and new self-healing materials for industrial environments.

The bulletin also includes sectoral reports and scientific publications that reinforce the importance of the concept of resilience in the design of policies, infrastructure, and technologies adapted to highly uncertain scenarios, such as climate change or digital threats.
