Five research groups from the Jaume I University (UJI) have participated in the second edition of scientific entrepreneurship bootcamp under the program UJISpinoffThis activity is organized by Espaitec and promoted by the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation, Transfer and Territory.
The activity consisted of an intensive two-day training course designed to help participating teams explore the potential of transfer of their research resultsDuring the sessions, the groups worked with the consulting firm. Innova Prismatic in a practical way on their own projects, applying tools and methodologies that have allowed them to identify the main uncertainties, validate hypotheses and bring their technology closer to the real needs of the market.
Lean Startup Methodology
In the first session, the teams explored the fundamentals of Lean Startup applied to the validation of scientific projects and worked on the business model canvas adapted to their technologies. During the second day, they progressed in validating their value proposition and designing market experiments that would allow the groups to test their hypotheses with potential users and customers.
Participating projects
Sixteen researchers from five research groups participated in the scientific entrepreneurship bootcamp: the group SPARK – Specific purposes and research of language applied to knowledge; the group TECNOLETTRA – Language Technologies, Terminology and Translation; the group QSS – Sustainable and Supramolecular Chemistry; the group TKGB – Temporal knowledge bases and the group of Solid State Chemistry.
UJISpinoff
The bootcamp is part of the UJISpinoff program, designed for UJI research staff and research groups interested in creating a company based on research results, technological development, or innovation. The project supports teams from the initial ideation phases through validation and preparation for launching the future company. This initiative is supported by the Valencian generalitat.
