Conference on technologies to guarantee the traceability of food from the field to the point of sale
The current regulations regarding food traceability do not go into detail on how to proceed to guarantee the safety of the food value chain. Technologies such as blockchain and the Internet of Things (IOT) are already a reality in the primary sector, providing real-time solutions to guarantee security throughout the production, distribution and sales process.
Along these lines, on Wednesday, June 17 at 12.00:XNUMX p.m. we organize the online seminar “Traceability in the primary sector” and a free webinar whose main objective is to show real cases of application of these technologies to improve traceability in the value chain of the primary sector.
Panel of experts and success stories
The webinar will feature a panel of experts with whom to discover what we mean when we talk about blockchain applied to the primary sector and how this technology can promote the transparency of processes, the security of transactions and their inalterability. That is, new technologies aimed at improving food security and generating new opportunities in the territory. At a security level, traceability allows us to improve the response capacity in emergency situations. Regarding opportunities, the digital transformation of territories represents a new job and economic opportunity to fight against depopulation.
The presentation of the day will feature the intervention of David Torres, General Director of Rural Development of the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition Generalitat Valenciana, and Santiago Perez, Deputy of Rural Development and Action Against Depopulation of the Castelló Provincial Council, who will present the main projects developed at the regional level in the matter. david cabedo, Deputy Vice-Rector for Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Universitat Jaume I, will report on the progress of the Castellón Global Program, and Juan Juan Antonio Bertolin, Manager of the General Foundation of the Jaume I University and Director of Espaitec, will be responsible for moderating the day.
Now, Francisco Benitez, Vice President Blockchain Commission at the Andalusia Digital Transformation Office, will hold a conference to explain what the digital transformation of territories is and how blockchain plays a fundamental role in this process.
The day will continue with the presentation of two success stories of Valencian companies working on the traceability of the primary sector. Ivan Forner will present Avian Technological, a Vinaròs firm that develops electronic systems and industrial programming for poultry farms. Pablo Rodrigo will explain the case of traceable, a company from Valencia that develops food traceability from the field to the point of sale. To conclude, there will be a short debate and question time.
