The company based in espaitec develops rapid techniques for microbiological detection and quantification, based on the combination of recognition molecules with advanced nanomaterials.
Biotics has signed its acceptance as a participant in the Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation (ELITE) program organized by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) based in Atlanta, USA. This invitation enables collaboration between the company and the American Center for the introduction of immunomagnetic techniques in exercises led by the CDC as well as research on biological materials for rapid tests on Legionella.
This microorganism has a growing interest in the USA as a result of the outbreaks that have occurred in recent years and the growing importance of this infectious disease in the USA. The use of rapid techniques complementary to the conventional culture method opens the possibility of reducing the impact of outbreaks on the exposed population through early identification of potential risk sources.
