The company Biotics Biochemistry Analytical It is specialized in the rapid detection of legionella through immunomagnetic separation.
Last Friday, January 27, 2017, it took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health in Toledo a training day on the rapid Legionella detection technique (Legipid®) based on immunomagnetic separation (SIM). This technique consists of the detection of viable Legionella cells through specific antibodies, managing to detect and quantify the bacteria in just one hour compared to 10-14 days for traditional analyzes through culture.
The analytical units of the Laboratory of the General Directorate of Public Health of Castilla La Mancha, with the Director of Public Health of said community, Mr. Manuel Tordera Ramos, present, accompanied by Mr. Fernando Cebrián Gómez, Head of the Environmental Health Service, Occupational Health and Public Health Laboratories and Mr. Pedro José Fernández Martínez, Coordinator of the Public Health Laboratories of Castilla la Mancha.
The purpose of the conference was to exchange opinions and experiences between the regional government, the laboratory technicians in charge of guaranteeing public health in Castilla La Mancha and the company Biotica, a biotechnology firm located in Espaitec and specialized in the development of rapid tests for detection of pathogens in environmental samples with several products on the market, focused on the early detection of Legionella, as is the case of Legipid® Legionella Fast Detection.
