The fourth edition of the social entrepreneurship program «UJI Emprèn OnSocial», already has winning projects: Biocats and Amalgama Development, two initiatives that aim to improve the closest environment with social proposals and that join the other six startups created under the business creation program since 2018. Each of the two initiatives has received an aid of 10.000 euros thanks to the agreement signed between the Universitat Jaume I and the Banco Santanderthrough Santander Universities, to establish a company and continue developing and consolidating your business project. Both projects have had, in their development, the mentoring of SECOT Castellón and will be linked to podcast.
BIOCATS: promoter of ecological houses
Biocats It is a project promoted by Maria Silvana Catasus, graduated in Technical Architecture from the Universitat Jaume I. The main objective of this initiative is to create an urbanization of bioclimatic modular houses made with ecological materials for an urban area of Castellón. The urbanization will have common areas where it can grow food and have leisure spaces for its residents. The target audience that Biocats will target are young people with environmental awareness.
Amalgama Desarrollo: Human talent consultant
Amalgama is an initiative led by Teresa Gallego, (professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Construction at the UJI), aimed at creating a human talent consultancy for social companies that connects young people with very little or no previous work experience with social companies. who can add to their CVs the experience necessary to get a job.

The institutional entrepreneurship program of the Universitat Jaume I «UJI Emprèn OnSocial» (UEOS), is promoted jointly by the vice-chancellors for students and social commitment and for research and transfer, specifically through the INCREA Chair and the General Foundation of the Jaume I University, managing entity of Espaitec, SECOT Castellón.
Throughout its 5 editions, a total of 82 entrepreneurial projects promoted by UJI students, administration and services staff, teaching and research staff and SAUJI Alumni They have been selected to participate in the training and mentoring sessions of the program that is currently in its fifth edition. The program, from its beginnings to the present, has enabled the creation of eight new companies committed to sustainability, the social and environmental impact of economic activity in the province of Castellón.
This program is carried out with the support of the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society and the Banco Santanderthrough Santander Universities.
