The European Innovation Council has selected the company, which is connected to Espaitec, making it the first Spanish space company to access this funding instrument.

Arkadia Space, a company connected to Espaitec, has obtained 14,5 millones de euros of the program EIC Accelerator to advance the development and marketing of their green propulsion systems for the space sector. The Castellón-based firm was one of 61 selected from 923 European applications.

The funding awarded consists of a €2,5 million grant, €6 million in equity through the EIC fund, and an additional €6 million in private investment. With this support, Arkadia Space strengthens its position in the development of hypergolic propulsion technology based on hydrogen peroxide and green fuels, an alternative to traditional propellants used in the space industry.

This European support comes after the in-orbit validation of DARK, the company's green propulsion system, launched in March 2025 aboard a satellite from the Italian company d-orbit during a mission of SpaceX.

Furthermore, Arkadia Space is expanding its testing facility at Castellón Airport to increase its technological and industrial capacity. The company anticipates this will accelerate its growth amidst growing market interest in safer and more sustainable space solutions, solidifying its position as a key player in the Espaitec innovation ecosystem.
