The company Arkadia Space, based in Espaitec, announces its collaboration with D-Orbit, a leading company in space transport and logistics solutions, for the validation of its first product in orbit

Arkadia Space, an aerospace firm from Castellón, has reached an agreementCollaboration agreement with the Italian space transport and logistics company, d-orbit, with the aim of validating its first product in orbit. This milestone, scheduled for March 2025, will mean carrying out its first propulsion module in space, becoming the first Spanish company to put a chemical propulsion system into orbit.

Highlight that The Arkadia Space propulsion module consists of a fuel tank (hydrogen peroxide), electronic systems and two thrusters of 5N each., designed, tested and qualified by the team of the Castellón technology company. Currently, the module has already successfully passed all the tests necessary to be able to fly aboard D-Orbit, the inaugural flight will take place in March 2025, aboard the SpaceX, Falcon 9, on the Transporter 13 mission.

A historic milestone for Arkadia Space

The chemical propulsion system, designed by Arkadia Space, will make it become the first Spanish system to fly in orbit, consolidating the Castellón firm as a reference in the field of orbital propulsion for satellites and space vehicles. The main objective of the mission focuses on Validate technology in orbit, to test the 5N thrusters, together with the capacity for long-term storage of hydrogen peroxide, a green, safe and efficient fuel that Arkadia Space is betting on, and which seeks to position it as a real alternative to fuels traditionally used since the 1960s, such as hydrazine and derivatives.

According to Francho Garcia, CEO Arkadia Space, "Since our beginnings, we have been very clear that we want to be the leading company in orbital propulsion with our commitment to green fuels. And this orbital launch is the first step that positions us as a clear candidate to be the alternative to propulsion systems based on hydrazine and derivatives.".

D-Orbit, strategic partner of Arkadia Space

The Italian company D-Orbit has been selected as strategic partner for this mission due to its vast experience and reliability in space missionsWith a history of successful launches, and having flown on all of SpaceX's Transporter missions, Arkadia Space's collaboration with D-Orbit ensures maximum security and safety on the inaugural flight of the Castellón-based company's propulsion system. It should be noted that Arkadia Space will carry out its IoD/IOV flight on board the ION platform.

Arkadia Space, Espaitec company

The Castellón company, specialized in the development and marketing of green engines and propulsion systems, with the aim of providing mobility in space to platforms and space vehicles. Arkadia Space was founded by engineers Francho Garcia, Ismael Gutierrez, Francisco Espinosa, and Sergio Soler in the year 2020; and the company has its offices in Spaitec, Science and Technology Park of the Jaume I University, and has an orbital engine test center in the Castellón airport. It should be noted that among its investment partners there are relevant figures from the space sector such as Pedro Duque, astronaut and former Minister of Science and Innovation, and Antoine de Chassy, founder of the successful space company Orbital Loft.

Arkadia Space actively collaborates in various projects with the European Space Agency (ESA), which will be announced shortly, innovative initiatives that involve the development of new products to meet the needs that the space sector will demand in the coming years.
