There are three basic requirements to qualify for the Young Innovative Company seal. First of all, be an SME. Secondly, have been less than 6 years since the company was founded. Finally, the company's research, development and technological innovation expenses must represent at least 15% of the company's total expenses. In addition, companies must prove their innovative nature through training actions in innovation management and define their innovation strategy, a business plan and detailed report. Regarding the innovative SME, the company must comply with 27 indicators in different areas.
Both certifications allow organizations to demonstrate their capacity for innovation through the correct evaluation of the resources they apply to the innovation process, as well as the results obtained. Furthermore, obtaining any of the seals means that companies are automatically included in the Registry of Innovative SMEs of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, being able to access economic and tax advantages.
Among the advantages of the seals, the following stands out: to be able to make compatible within the same research staff the 40% bonus on business contributions to Social Security contributions, with the tax deduction of up to 42% of R&D&I expenses from the Corporate Tax.
The purpose of the event was to identify firms linked to espaitec and the Castellón Global Program Business Club interested in obtaining the seals. With the collaboration of AENOR Comunidad Valenciana, in the coming months work will begin on the documentation and training required to obtain certification with interested companies.
