The Castellón-based multinational Estudio Cerático, an international leader in ceramic design, joins the energy transition with the photovoltaic installation of the Quantum Group.

The 591,3 kWp installation will allow Estudio Cerático to spend more than 1 million euros in electricity, in the next 25 years.

The Spanish multinational Estudi Ceràmic, a reference in the ceramic sector, in the manufacture of monococció in xicotet format, decoration and special fish, joins the energy transition with the incorporation of a new photovoltaic installation. The ceramic company will start generating its own electric energy through the installation of 1.314 photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of the building in Sant Joan de Moró, Castelló, with the capacity to produce a power of 591,3 kWp per day. 'net energy from the Grup Quàntum, which has its Valencian name in Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de l'UJI.

The move to photovoltaic self-consumption by Estudi Ceràmic will allow a reduction of more than one million euros in its energy costs, in the next 25 years.

The positive effect of the Quantum installation will not only have a positive impact on the cost of the electricity bill for Estudio Cerático, but will allow the ceramic company to reduce its impact on the environment, significantly reducing the indicators associated with the carbon footprint of the activity. In the next 25 years, Estudio Cerático will release 7.219 Tn of CO₂ to the atmosphere: which is translated into an effect equal to planting 427.749 M2 of forest mass, in these temperatures.

In the words of the CEO of Estudi Ceràmic, “for Estudio Ceràmic, this new step meant a strong commitment to our environment guaranteeing sustainability in introducing an immediate environmental improvement, the economic impact from which we will benefit in the long run.”

For Víctor Gaceta, delegate of the Quantum Group to the Valencian Community, “photovoltaic self-consumption represents a lever for wealth creation for the Ceramics industry and the entire cluster under its power. Being aware of our resources is the first step in achieving our advantages; Solar energy can revolutionize the product costs of any company. The board of Estudi Ceràmic has demonstrated that it has the vision to maintain a leadership position in the coming years.”

The Valencian Community, due to its characteristics, will see a significant increase in energy self-consumption due to the increase in photovoltaic installations with forecasts for an increase in installed power of 1.548% compared to its current level.
